About Us

Editor:  Mike St. John

DRUMline is an interactive blog.  I want us to communicate, share ideas, learn, play and surprise the heck out of each other.   Much of my personal growth and joy throughout my lifetime has involved the drums.   I am searching for more personal growth and joy, hopefully you are too! It will take a little time to coordinate the technology since we are relatively new.   Our goal, however, is to involve the drumming community and connect it via the internet.   The more communication the better.   We will have famous drummers featured but also a lot of great drummers you have never heard of, maybe even you.   I ask for your patience and participation as we refine this experiment.  Over time, the opportunity for exposure will increase and you can help me broaden our scope.

Interactive - Some cool things you can do on the site, 1- you can watch videos.  2 - you can let the music play while reading, just click play and scroll down  3 - you will see related videos come up after the ones I have selected so you can dig a little deeper  4- Click in and out of a particular BLOG to reset videos to defalut selection. 5- Slide Shows - Let 'em play or use controls to view.  DRUMblog- email me if you want me to BLOG your news, mike@drum-line.net.

RUSH's Clockwork Angels on iTunes

RUSH's Clockwork Angels out on iTunes.   For me personally...RUSH is still a band where I like to buy the CD... They always have cool artwork and the music is still evolving, viable and excellent.   Amazing after nearly 40 years!   Whatever way you get your RUSH music, if you dig it I guess it doesn't matter.   Part of me wants a turntable and a vinyl recording and I beleve that is also available.  More infor at rush.com.

OWL - new recording!

Jason Achiles Mezilis, the best Greek musician since Rocrates, informed me that OWL has recorded new music and is currently mixing it.   OWL (Chris Wyse - bass, Jason - guitar, Dan Dinsmore - drums) also had John Tempesta (who plays with Chris in The Cult) guest on a track.   The band is also editing their first video from the new album.   OWL's originality is amazing and their hook ladened powerage is soon to grab your attention.

Brian Tichy and the Moby Dicks were at it again last night celebrating John Bonham's Birthday at the House of Blues in LA.   A lot of great guest drummers too!   Check it out on Facebook under Bonhamsbirthdaybash!

RUSH tour in support of Clockwork Angels

RUSH continues to impress Live and in the Studio.   This Summer and Fall they tour the US in support of Clockwork Angels.   I felt compelled to rewrite some RUSH lyrics to celebrate: ' The Oaks wonder why the Maples look kinda wet but are unable to see me walkin' my pet...the wet isn't dew but most likely pee...I would never do that to a tree but a Dogwood'

Whole lotta Dave...Simmons!

Dave Simmons is everywhere, garnering much deserved recognition for his killer groove.

After years with The Marleys playing Reggae, Dave took the gig with KC and the Sunshine Band and is doing some killer funk grooves as of late.   He will be appearing in Modern Drummer, most likely in July.   You can catch Dave right now on drummerconnection.com and in our DRUMlive section of DRUMline.   A more extensive interview and performance with KC and the Sunshine Band will be up soon on DRUMline!
